Mark Lefenfeld - Co-Founder and Co-President; A resident of Great Barrington, Mark has long been active in the community. He sat on the Great Barrington Finance Committee for many years and is also a past president of Hevreh of Southern Berkshire, a significantly sized congregation in Great Barrington. Mark is a retired attorney and investment banker. He holds a BA, JD and MBA. Mark co-founded Backyard Bounty of the Berkshires, the predecessor organization to Berkshire Bounty, with Jay Weintraub in 2016.
Jay Weintraub – Co-Founder and Co-President; Jay has lived in the Berkshires since 2001, and has a history of community involvement there. While residing in Alford, he conceived and instituted Alford-Assist, where town residents can post requests for help from neighbors. Jay was also a key member of the group that planned, installed and oversaw the creation of a municipally-owned fiber-optic network in Alford. Jay retired in 2012 after spending over 30 years as Wall Street research analyst with several firms, including heading up Corporate Bond Research at Merrill Lynch. He co-founded Backyard Bounty of the Berkshires, the predecessor organization to Berkshire Bounty, with Mark Lefenfeld in 2016.
Brian Grossman - Grossman is an experienced general manager and brand marketer, specializing in developing and implementing innovative business strategies and marketing plans, content creation, research, technology platforms, and media strategy. He is currently CEO and co-founder of Artistory, a technology start-up based in the Berkshires. Brian held leadership positions at prominent sports, music, and consumer packaged goods companies, including SVP, Marketing of the NY Knicks at Madison Square Garden. He also held management positions at XM Satellite Radio and General Mills. Brian received an AB from Harvard and an MBA from the Graduate School of Business at Stanford. He lives in Great Barrington with wife, Karen, and their three children.
Margaret Moulton - Moulton is the Executive Director of Berkshire Grown, a local nonprofit that supports and promotes locally based agriculture as part of a healthy Berkshire economy and landscape. She has a background in community-building program development, photography, and education. She relocated to the Berkshires in 2015 with her husband and college-age daughters to work for the Trustees of Reservations. She holds an MFA in Photography and a BA in Philosophy.
Matt Masiero - Masiero grew up in Manchester by the Sea, Massachusetts and graduated from The Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston in 1977. In 1979, at the age of 21, Matt moved to the Berkshires and joined forces with his brother Chris to open the roadside produce stand that would soon become Guido’s Fresh Marketplace on Route 7 in Pittsfield. A Great Barrington location opened in 1995, with both stores operating on a marketplace model where tenant businesses manage the meat and fish, floral and gift, and kitchenware selection alongside the Guido’s produce, grocery, cafés, and prepared food and deli departments. The stores employ over 300 people, and, as one of the largest employers in the Berkshires, Guido’s has followed a tradition of quality service and community support, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mr. Masiero and his brother plan to retire at the end of 2023 as Guido’s leadership transitions to the next generation of the Masiero family. Mr. Masiero brings with him over four decades of experience in food retail, management, and community giving, as well as a deep commitment to fighting food insecurity in the region.
Greg Schneider - Schneider is an entrepreneur and has started, built, sold, or invested in a number of service businesses. Industries have included sustainability news distribution and media, renewable energy, human resources/payroll, and conference organization and promotion. Greg currently serves as Chairman of 3BL Media, an impact communications and analytics company. He has also served on the Board of Energea, a crowdfunding investment platform for renewable energy, and Adamah, a non-profit Jewish organization focused on climate change. Positions held include CEO, COO, President, and Chairman. Greg and his wife Cindy have 4 children, 2 grandchildren, 2 horses, 12 goats, a couple of chickens, and a cat, and have loved living in the Berkshires since 2019.
Karen Vogel - Vogel is a child health advocate who currently serves as the Flex Services Coordinator for Berkshire Fallon Health Collaborative. She has held previous roles as the Director of Community Impact and Early Childhood Program Manager for Berkshire United Way, and as the Preschool Director for Kidzone, Inc. Karen serves on several boards and committees and enjoys yoga, hiking, and pickleball.
